On April 10, 2008 CA Sretenje Pozega held the third panel discussion within implementation of the project “ Serbia in the European Union, what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega, Lucani and Arilje...“. The panel discussion was held in Arilje under the title : Knowledge is needed-quality and availability of education.
Speakers on a panel discussion were: Danijela Scepanovic, education policy analyst, Darinka Radivojevic, independent expert in education, and moderator was Natasa Curcic-MSP, Office in Kraljevo. Present citizens were introduced with goals and policy of the European Union in education area, available and potential funding sources for educative programs and necessity of inclusion of marginalized groups into education process.

CA Sretenje Pozega held the second panel discussion on April 3, 2008 within implementation of the project “ Serbia in the European Union, what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega, Lucani and Arilje...“. The panel discussion on environmental protection topic was held in Tometino Polje under a title: Colour grey with green. Speakers on a panel discussion were: Anđelka Mihajlov- president of the Environmental Ambassadors, Aleksandra Knez Milojković- president of the Environmental Ambassadors and Milan Petrovic. Participants of the discussion were dwellers of Tometino Polje as well as representatives of the Ecological Association Jelen Do, representatives of the Fishermen Organization from Pozega, representatives of the Tourist Organization from Tometino Polje.

 
How to reduce poverty

CA Sretenje Pozega held a panel discussion with a topic:"How to reduce poverty" in Lucane on March 27, 2008 within implementation of the project “ Serbia in the European Union, what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega, Lucani and Arilje...“ Speakers on a panel discussion were: Tatijana Pavlović-Križanić, lawyer and expert for decentralization and local economic development from Belgrade, Brankica Jeremic- Uzice Center for Human Rights and Democracy and Dragan Roganovic- Association for Development of Ibar Valley . Participants of the panel discussion were citizens and representatives of municipality boards of opposition parties in the Municipal Assembly (Democratic Party, SPO)

Speakers approached to the poverty reduction from variety of aspects comparing Serbia and the European Union regarding poverty and they included all topic that were relevant for this part of Serbia (rural development, regional disparities, youngsters, vunerable groups and education)

Participants brought forward serious accusation for account of local authorities which are, according to their words, inert, bureaucratic and uninterested in facilitation of vital interests of citizens- poverty reduction, rising level of an economic productivity in Lucane and employment.

Next panel discussion will be held in Tometino Polje on a environmental protection topic on April 3, 2008.

 
Serbia in European Union,what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega,Lucani and Arilje...

CA Sretenje started implementation of the project "Serbia in the European Union, what is your benefit and what is the benefit of Pozega, Lucani and Arilje..." along with 43 organizations from Serbia. It will consist of 6 panel discussions in three already mentioned municipalities and promotional activities on a local level. All project activities will be covered by side of TV Pozega and CA Sretenje already have signed the Agreement on Cooperation with it.

The project goal is maintenance of the European integration topic high on a local and political agenda, or prevention that approaching Serbia to the European Union become taboo on a local, regional and ,to a certain extent, national level, by means of opening discussions on real and concrete topics as well as benefits that citizens and local communities can have if Serbia approaches to the European Union.

The first panel discussion will be held in Lucane on March, 27 2008 in the facilities of the Municipality Council Lucani and the topic is: How to reducepoverty.

 
Publication Strategic Litigation in Local Communities

In December CA Sretenje finished implementation of the project Strategic Litigation in Local Communities which was supported by the Canadian International Development Agency and the Fund for an Open Society. The last activity of the project was creation of a publication which is now available on our site and you can download it in the section called library. The publication contains, among the rest, analysis of the cases which were strategically represented on a regional level, undertaken steps and achieved results. The publication can be useful to all who are or plan to strategically litigate and advocacy.
